New Zealand
born artist and tutor, Maxine Thompson has been recognised for her
talent at depicting people and animals in life like pictures.
Named as master
pastellist by the Pastel Society of Australia, Maxine is called
upon to give advice and critiques at its meetings.
Maxine drew her first commissioned portraits as a teenager but almost
abandoned a career as an artist. She began studying for a law degree
and took up legal work in England.
She kept returning
to her first love, however and over the years was often commissioned
for portraits. In 1990 Maxine took up life as a full time artist.
Maxine has exhibited in many art shows and won many prizes and awards.
